Prologue

The man cleaned his reading glasses, before putting them back on, and sniffed. He sat on his desk, eyeing the picture that sat on the right edge of his mahogany desk. It was a picture of a whole army company, all of them dressed in the same army camos, and sighed. The man sniffed, once again, but it was a heavier one, full of guilt, and sadness. He picked up the picture, and eyed every face sadly.

"This was all under a year ago, and now, today's the day that everything changed." He muttered. All under a year ago, Forumansiontropolis was taken back from Oliver and his minions, who had taken it through sheer force, and dislocated many things. Lead by a large amount of determined militiamen, they stormed the palace and assassinated Oliver and Tayne, the puppet masters of the recent dictatorship. It was a succesful one, if many of his friends didn't die.

His brothers, Dreamy and Rok, and Rok's son, Sky, were one of the few lives taken away, along with Amber, a close friend of many, and many more he couldn't remember.

Mysticz, his other brother, was still alive, although no one really knew where.

"Sir, permission to enter?" A voice rang outside, snapping the man back to his senses.

"Of course, Syfte." Another man entered the room, and made a quick, crisp salute before relaxing and sitting down in the sofas the room provided. Syfte had black hair, and was wiry as a rat.

"Darren, are you reminiscing those days again?" Syfte asked, and the man named Darren nodded slowly.

"It's hard to believe it's been that event is behind us, just a year ago, and now look at us. Back like the usual days, minus a couple of people, of course." Darren nodded, and took off his reading glasses, focusing on the current matter. Syfte and his small squad, was called in for a mission.

"We haven't even had our first mission. Now, I felt that a year was enough to allow the areas and other sites to settle down, and to also re-bolster our depleted army. So, read this dossier, and share it with your squad. That's all I ask."

Spammers. They're part of the reason why Forumansion moved hosts.

Don't worry about it.

Chapter One

"Bah. I should've made that shot." The man wiped his blonde hair, with his wrist, sighing. There was two people on the basketball court in the FAF (Forumansion's Armed Forces) Forumansion few gyms, with some recruits watching the two officiers play basketball, 1 on 1.

"No way, jose. Cody, all you can do is shoot bricks." The other man laughed, before catching the basketball and dunking it on the lowered rim, doing a perfect tomahawk power.

"Pizza, you can stop showing off, you know." Cody grumbled, before attempting to dunk, with no avail, followed by the jeers from the recruits.

"I had enough." Cody heaved a sigh, fanning his face, unable to bear the heat. It was summer in the area, and the air conditioners stationed around the base was ineffective, to say the least. The doors opened from the entrance of the gym, and Syfte walked in, wearing a dark green t-shirt, dark grey camo pants, and combat boots, with sliver aviators covering his eyes.

"Well, 1st Lieutenant Pizza and Sergeant Major Cody. Could I have a word with you two?" Sfyte uttered, and Cody nodded.

"Kay, you guys are dismissed. Free time until Dinner!" Cody barked, and the eager soldiers in Syfte's platoon left, the sergeants guiding the corporals and privates out of the gymnasium, leaving the two officers and a senior NCO behind.

"Well. This place needs a re-work, that's for sure. Someone remind me that, next time we see Darren, kays? Anyways, I've been given a dossier, and the two of you, along with Qwerty, are to take a look at it." Sfyte fans his cheeks, from the heat, before handing Cody and Pizza their own dossiers, colour photocopies of the original replica.

"Welp. Our company is supposed to head to south of Forumansiontropolis, and onto foreign soils?!" Pizza muttered, his brown eyes scanning the paper.

"Looks like it. Remember the time when-" Cody shut up instantly, unable to think for a second, before continuing.

"Let's keep the past out of this, shall we? After, all, Cody, you're still...not used to being alive again, no?" said Sfyte, and Cody sighs.

"Nope. Not at all." It was a project initiated by Darren, and Cody was the first test subject of a new drug that would 'revive' the person for an indefinite time being.

(Cody died in FM: Civil War)

"Anyways. Share this with Qwerty, hopefully sometime during dinner. I gotta see what equipment is to be handed to us." Syfte nods, leaving his 2nd in command, and the senior NCO behind.

"That reminds me. Weren't you a Major, or Colonel? Plus, what happened to-" Cody seemed to have a firestorm of memories return, before

"No. No more, please." Pizza sighed, rubbing his face. Of course. Everything was crystal clear to him.

Every single damn thing. Yet everyone wanted to move on.

I feel like an idiot. It was all my fault. I could've ended everything, yet I hesitated. thought Pizza.

"Okay, okay. Geez. Come on, let's go find something to do around the base." Cody says cheerfully, and leaves before Pizza does, slowly following his ally.

It was all under a year ago.

That war that was never meant to happen.

The screams of his friends, in pain, dying, yet he was hesitant to pull the trigger.

"I gotta get a move on. Maybe I'll play a visit to Mysticz. There's no way I could've died as well, could I?" Pizza thought, and jogged out of the gym, barely able to keep up with Cody.
