Familial Rambling's Blog Review!

Bulletin Analysis Review12Congratulations!
Your blog review has been completed. This blog review will hold many tips, suggestions, comments, and feedback that are convenient and voluntary for your blog.

Bulletin Analysis 301d06255b2b6e4179a45a18f6c5061fFirst Impressions:
One of the first things that I noticed when I entered your blog was the colour scheme. I think you've used incredibly beautiful colours, and they give your blog a very warm, home-like feel. That feel is very pleasant to have while reading through your blog.

I think that the subject matter of your blog and how well it is executed makes your blog stand out a lot. I don't think I've ever seen a blog with your exact topics covered. I've seen individual family blogs, individual movie blogs, and so on, but I don't believe I've ever seen those exact topics all mushed together on one blog.

I really like how for the categories, instead of just having "Relationships", "Movies", ect. you have "Movie Ramblings" and "Relationship Ramblings". I feel kind of corny for liking how you did that so much, but I think it's really cute how you incorporated the word "ramblings" into all of the category names.

I think that maybe it would be worthwhile to only show half of your posts, and use the "see more" slash "keep reading" button on the index. You'd be able to have maybe one more post on the index that way, and it would likely incourage the use of the comments, sharing, and liking because it's more visible right under the article. How you have it set up currently, the person would have to click the article and go to it (which would be pointless, currently because they can fully read it on the index, unless they specifically want to comment) and comment, like, or share it. I bet many people who would be able to make a nice contribution to your blog wouldn't even take not of the "comment" button as it is.

I really, really like your theme. It's very easy to navigate and just generally eye-pleasing. I'm a fan of your favicon. It's very lovely, and it reminds me of faeries.

I don't particularly like how you have "Friends and links", "pages", and "monthly archives" at the bottom of the page when you have so much room with the side widgets. All it's doing is making the page longer, and for some (including myself) when you scroll too fast, it can freeze the page. Also, I think it would be a bit cleaner to have all of the widgets together in one widget-area. I'm sure there will be a few visitors who won't scroll all the way down, so I think it would be worth it to move those three widgets to the sidebar.

I think that instead of having the "back to top" button on the bottom of the forum, it would be more useful if it wasn't at the bottom. I think it would be better if you had one of the "scroll up" buttons that moved down the page with you. So, that if you were a regular reader, and only had to go half way down the page and wanted to go back up, you could just click the "up" button, and wouldn't have to scroll all the way down (or up) to go all the way back up. Sorry if I didn't describe that well, here's an example of what I mean. Add this code in to the "text" widget -
Code:
<a style="display:scroll;position:fixed;bottom:6px;right:6px;" href="#" title="Back to Top"><img src="http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/8589/arrowupcx2.gif" /></a>

I think that for all the edges on your blog (the navigation bar ones, the widget ones, and so on) would look really neat if they were rounded instead of just being normal edges. Since you have circles next to your title, and there are circle-like things in the background, I think it would compliment everything if you made the edges circles as well.

Bulletin Analysis 878c35908b1104d78e3ae8f637c0c2f9Content:
Your content, put simply, is fantastic. Every post of yours that I've read has been very interesting.
Actually, I even remember reading one post and about half way through, I wondered why I was reading it because it had absolutely no value or relevance to me. And, it was still a very good read. You're a very good writer, and it shows in your posts. Your blog, content wise, is amazing. Great job with it.

From the few articles I read specifically for this review, I've noticed that you have a nice fanbase. Your comment section seems to be pretty active, and I've read a few really contributive comments in there.

Bulletin Analysis 7838284ed90b2f868df51d1a3020f6d8Spelling, Grammar, and Miscellaneous:
This section is going to be another (the section above was as well) incredibly short and boring because you have so little to improve on with it, and there's so little I can critique. Your spelling and grammar is just lovely. There's nothing I can say to improve it, because it's probably better than mine and I can't find any errors in it. Great job with this.

As the review ends, I'd like to note that this was an extremely hard blog to review. That's wonderful, it means that there are so little things that I could find that could be improved. You do have a really good blog.

(Spelling, Grammar, and Miscellaneous: 25/25)

Overall Score: 90/100

What I liked most about your blog: The posts.

What I would improve first: Probably the whole "not displaying full posts on index" thing.

After you are satisfied with your review, it would be very helpful for the reviewers here at ForuMansion if you were to leave feedback in the appropriate topic. Thank you for requesting at ForuMansion!
