We've all had it - We are setting up a new forum but are stuck for a name for the site. Well here are some tips for you if you are in that situation.

1. Always try to make your forum name the same as your domain. It's no use having a forum called ForuMansion but a domain forumhelp.com. That doesn't help.
2. Always check the domain availability. It's always good to get the .com of the name you want, but if it isn't available settle for the .net. It's just as good.
3. Don't name your forum similar to competitors. If you are setting up a phpBB forum, don't call it something like ForumsMansions. You will be subject to copyright violation if you do.
4. Always make sure you use a relevant name. If you are running a music forum, it's no good calling your forum something to do with gaming.

Follow these tips and you will think of a good name, also remember that you can ask close forum or real-life friends for their ideas on a name or you can think of a few and ask these people to vote on one. It's a great way to know what your users will think.
