It is every forum owners' dream to own a forum with hundreds of thousands of posts and active members who enjoy using the site.
In order to achieve that dream, a lot of forum owners resort to something which is known as "posting packages" or "posting hire". This is where a user pays another person to post on their site. Sometimes they use real money, sometimes they use virtual money (currency) which they earn on other websites.
The latter is much more common, and recently an influx of promotion forums which offer this exact service have opened and become available for forum owners to use and enjoy the benefits of. But have you ever thought that posting packages could have disadvantages, too?
Well, I'm here to tell you that among the vast majority of positives, there are some negatives. They include the fact that they're not real posts, and 95% of the time the person completing the package isn't actually interesting in your forum or it's subject. They just pretend they are. This means you have fake users, which could mean they're posts aren't relevant and don't seem real as they're not posting about the main topic of the forum. For me, that's the fastest way to see if a member is genuine or not.
But as we all know, posting packages or deals do also have some advantages and positives. These include the fact that they increase activity on your site, meaning better overall statistics. Also, other, real users will be more inclined to post due to the fact that there is more members to post with and more to post about. It has a lot more advantages than disadvantages, and for most the positives outweigh the negatives, but that's not the case for everyone.
Some like packages; some don't. It really is that simple.
