In order to improve ForuMansion, the administration team has been considering making a few necessary changes.

Would you like a place to just advertise your forum, instead of having to jump through so many hoops? What we mean is, would you like a place to advertise, where you don't have to engage in posting to get major results from that forum?

In other words, do you want a place to advertise where all you do is advertise, gain services and get a little bit of support? The more you advertise your forum with us, the more 'service tokens' you would gain.

Please let us know what you think, along with any ideas!

It confuses me but I somewhat get half of it.

If my understanding is correct, what Cody meant is to get rid of all discussion, be it administration-related or general discussion and turn the whole forum into only sections providing services and maybe a bit support. No interactions needed or allowed; you just come to request services or post updates about your site.

I oppose this idea.

I believe one of ForuMansion's goal is to help produce better webmasters. That can't be done by simply giving services without discussion area. It gives lots of experience, how to talk to people, deal with problems, share ideas and opinions, and so many other things. This is also important in building sites, not only services for advertising.

I think that's a horrible idea then. I enjoy the discussions as do others. If this forum got turned into that then I doubt anyone would really bother joining or taking part.

If the discussion area isn't going too well then do some exchanges, get some topic packages for that section etc.

Well, we would have some discussions. It wouldn't be a wide list of forums. However, they would more than likely be very vague (such as Administrating, Respectability, ect) to where we could allow multiple discussions. But, it wouldn't be as important to discuss as it is, right now.

Well, maybe we have too many non-administration-related discussion section. Maybe you can merge all general forums together as one big general discussion section, making sub-forums only if needed, like I did with my site. Administrative-related should have more space, in my opinion, but you can do it like that too to concentrate things.
