It's going to stay dead.

SOPA and PIPA were just excuses to do what was already being done.

Maybe some people dislike it. Maybe the purpose was to see if people think it's going to pass, or..I don't know. There are different opinions on it.

Because SOPA has caused a majority of arguments.

SOPA has cause no arguments. The only group of people that are against SOPA are rich and selfish Hollywood representatives. They are the only minority.

Cause I can see "very few" people here that agree with it. But even then. Who's going to buy music?

It's not only about music. SOPA is internet censorship.

I already bought my music.

Did anyone here participate in the blackouts or call their senator?

I did none of those things, because i was certain the bill would not get passed.

Why?

Because even if Obama didn't agree with this bill, which is really stupid, he would veto it because he wants the popular vote for the election coming up and if he vetoed the bill he sure as hell wouldn't be getting them Delighted

I know it's not just about music. However, if it did pass I'm sure there would be ton of back-fire, raids and riots around the US and other places.

IF is a very strong word, i would know. There was almost no chance of this passing. Obama needs his votes.

I just participated, didn't call in my senator or anything. Probably wouldn't get a chance to talk with him.

At least SOPA and PIPA are held off, not dead. It's been delayed, but for an indefinite period of time.

Our real problems are now ACTA and PCIPA, both which affect our privacy on the internet. In fact, PCIPA gives ISPs the tools to monitor everything, and I mean everything, we do on the internet.

Lol, that's a major issue because that can be an international law and nobody is paying attention to it! Don't let them sneak it in!

If you mean studying amphibians, I don't do it often.
And yeah, the two bills, give power to the ISPs, which in most cases, can, and are power-hungry and greedy, arguably. They could use the tools to scam and exploit their customers. It could be much worse than SOPA in some way.
